NZVPN Quick Start

From sign-up to your first connection in five steps.

Client interfaces vary slightly between versions, so the steps below reflect common layouts. If you can't find a particular option, update to the latest version or check the Help Center for platform-specific instructions.

Step 1

Step 1: Create an Account

Open the NZVPN user panel sign-up page, choose a username and password, and you're done. No email address is required, and you won't be asked for phone verification either — just remember the username and password you set, since you'll use them for every login and purchase.

  1. Click the "Start Free" button at the top of this page to go to the sign-up page.
  2. In the username field, enter a login name. A combination of letters and numbers is easiest to remember.
  3. In the password field, set a password of at least 8 characters. Mixing uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols is recommended.
  4. Click the "Sign Up" button to submit. The page will take you straight to your logged-in user panel.

A few things to keep in mind: your username is your unique login identifier and can't be changed after registration. If you use an email-style username, make sure you can receive mail at that address — though NZVPN doesn't require an email to register, so a simple letter-and-number combination is fine. If you forget your password, you can reset it via the panel's recovery feature, but you'll need to set up backup credentials in settings beforehand.

Once you've registered, you'll see your account status in the "Account Overview" section of the user panel. We recommend heading to the settings page right after registering to configure backup credentials, so you won't be locked out if you ever forget your password.

Step 2

Step 2: Choose a Plan

NZVPN offers three monthly plans and three data packs — just pick the one that fits your usage. Monthly plan data resets every month on your billing date, while data packs last until used up and never expire.

Monthly Plans
  • ¥9.9/month, includes 60GB data
  • ¥18/month, includes 250GB data
  • ¥28/month, includes 500GB data
Data Packs (valid until used up, never expire)
  • ¥158 / 300GB
  • ¥358 / 1000GB
  • ¥658 / 3000GB
  1. Click "View Plans" to go to the plans page, or browse the "Plans" section directly in your user panel.
  2. Pick the tier that matches your monthly usage. If you only use it occasionally, the ¥9.9 tier is plenty. If you regularly stream video or use AI tools, the ¥18 or ¥28 tier is a better fit.
  3. Data packs are ideal for temporary spikes in usage. They never expire, so you can save them for later.
  4. Choose your payment method: Alipay, WeChat, or USDT.
  5. Once payment is complete, your plan activates immediately. Data resets every month on your billing date.

A quick note on data usage: streaming 4K video uses roughly 3-4GB per hour, while general web browsing uses about 0.5GB per hour. If you mostly browse the web and check email, 60GB is plenty. If you watch a lot of video or use AI generation tools, consider the 250GB or 500GB tier.

All plans come with a 30-day no-questions-asked refund. If it's not a good fit, just request a refund within 30 days — no explanation needed. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated based on the remaining days.

Step 3

Step 3: Get Your Subscription Link

Your subscription link is the key to importing your configuration into a client. After logging in to the user panel, you'll find it on the "Account Overview" page.

  1. Open the user panel and log in with the username and password you created in Step 1.
  2. Find the "Subscription" section under "Account Overview."
  3. Click the "Copy" button to copy your subscription link to the clipboard.

The subscription link looks something like this:

https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN

(This is just an example format — always use the link shown in your panel.)

Your subscription link acts as an access credential for your account, so don't share it publicly. If you suspect it's been compromised, you can reset it in the panel, and the old link will be invalidated immediately.

Step 4

Step 4: Import into a Client

NZVPN provides clients for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. After logging in to the user panel, go to the "Downloads" page to get the installer for your platform. Clients are only available after login — we don't host static installer links here.

Windows

  1. Get the Windows client installer (.exe) from the "Downloads" page in your user panel.
  2. Double-click the installer and follow the prompts to complete the installation. You can choose the install directory during setup.
  3. On first launch, the client will prompt you to import a subscription. Paste the subscription link you copied in Step 3 into the input field and click "Import."
  4. Once imported, the client will automatically fetch the route list.
Step 5

Step 5: Connect and Verify

Once your subscription is imported, you're ready to connect. For your first connection, start with a route that has low latency — routes in Asia (such as Hong Kong or Singapore) typically have lower latency.

  1. Pick a route in the client. For your first connection, we recommend choosing one with low latency — routes in Asia (such as Hong Kong or Singapore) are usually faster.
  2. Click the "Connect" button and wait for the client status to change to "Connected."
  3. To verify it's working, open your browser and visit ip.sb or whatismyipaddress.com. Check whether the IP location shown has changed to the region of the route you selected.
  4. If the connection fails, try switching routes first, then check whether your subscription link is up to date. You can also refresh the subscription within the client.

Once connected, you can browse international sites, use AI tools, or stream content normally. If you experience slow speeds or disconnects, check the "Connection & Troubleshooting" section in the Help Center, or visit the Protocol Guide page to learn how route types affect stability.

Quick reference for common connection issues:

If you still can't connect after several attempts, your subscription link may have expired or a route may be under temporary maintenance. Refresh your subscription in the panel first, then try a different route. If issues persist, submit a ticket via the Help Center.
